Update on SmoothMouse

I’m getting a lot of emails with similar questions.

Does the mouse still lag in Yosemite?
Yes, unfortunately.

Is SmoothMouse compatible with Yosemite?
Yes, fortunately.

Is SmoothMouse dead?
The development had been completely paused for several months. The good news is—today we resumed work on the next major version with lots of new and unique features. Stay tuned.

By the way, we’re still looking for a C++ programmer who could help write mouse acceleration functions. Interested? Even if in doubt, please don’t hesitate to email me.

Good to know! I absolutely love smoothmouse and have a hard time living without it, but quickly dragging a window with it on temporarily freezes Finder and maxes out my CPU. Probably related to the lag problem.

Smoothmouse is the reason why i start loving my macbook pro. I just made a donation. Hope more people will support this great piece of software.
    Thanks guys!

I am one willing to fully support this amazing, clutter free, driver with a donation. And I’ll help again once the new version comes out.

(Sad news, though, many URLs on the official website aren’t working. Does that mean you gave up on the new version as well? Or does it mean you’re revamping the website as well?)

Hi Andre, we’ll fix the links within a week. (The forum has been hacked). We’re working on the new version of SM right now. Thanks for your support.

After using a magic mouse for the past 4 years, I bough a Logitech MX Master today thinking that it can’t be more frustrating than the magic mouse, and now I remember why I was forced to use that damn magic mouse.

I really really really hate Apple sometimes.

I fully support this project! Will you guys start accepting bitcoin? I’m happy to donate!

I’m super glad to see that someone has actually tried to tackle this problem, but unfortunately SmoothMouse cause really bad pointer lag for me on Yosemite. Without SmoothMouse I just have mainly scroll-wheel lag :(

  5. Jacob says:

Smoothmouse works really great for me on Yosemite. The only problem that I experience is that I have to start it manually after a boot up. On Mavericks it worked perfectly!

Smoothmouse doesn’t work with the 3D Touch Trackpad. Are you guys aware of this and are planning on rolling out a fix sometime?
