Yes — Apple Cinema Displays from the 2000s (the aluminum ones with massive DVI cables) are still perfectly usable with modern Macs from the 2020s via USB-C. However, for the 30-inch model, you’ll need a slightly clunkier cable setup.

Think twice before you buy WD_BLACK D50 Game Dock for your Mac

Update: all issues gone in newer macOS versions. I keep using this device. If you’re considering getting a Thunderbolt 3 dock called WD_BLACK D50 Game Dock (e.g. # WDBA3U0000NBK-EESN) to use with a Mac, think twice.

A brief note on BizonBox 2 + GTX 980

BizonBox is a Thunderbolt enclosure for PCIe videocards, assembled by Russian company Bizon specialising in selling Hackintoshes and hardware upgrades for Macs. I had a chance to get my hands on one of these devices.

Does Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI adapter introduce any lag? The answer is, probably not. At least I did not notice any difference when carrying out the experiment with my 1193 fps camera and Apple Cinema Display 30″.
